English is the official language of the congress. No simultaneous translations will be provided.

Climate and clothing

The climate is usually mild in June with temperatures around 20 to 25° Celsius. However, in addition to light clothing, don't forget warmer clothes and a raincoat for rainy days and good walking shoes as well as proper clothing if you plan excursions to the mountains.

Passport and visa requirements

For citizens of most countries, only a valid passport is required. However, visitors coming from certain countries may need a tourist visa. The local currency is the Swiss Franc (CHF). One Swiss Franc equals approximately 0.60 Euro. Banking hours are from Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. Maestro cards accepted by all ATB machines.

Shops in Fribourg are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 6:30pm and Saturday from 8:30 to 4:00 pm. Some shops in the city center close at 9:00 pm on Thursday. Shops at the Train Station are open 7/7 from 5:30am to 9pm.
